What is STRONG by Zumba?
It is High Intensity Tempo Training
What benefit will I get from it?
It is designed to help you tone and strengthen while improving your endurance, stamina, and cardio.
What can I expect from each class?
Each class will contain 4 quadrants.
1) Ignite- We'll warm up and start the body moving
2) Fire Up- We begin power moves
3) Push Your Limits - Designed to be high bursts of intensity. Up, down, and floor moves.
4) Floorplay - As expected, this entire quadrant is on the floor for core and strengthening.
Each quadrant is separated by recovery time.
Do the songs change each time?
No. We'll repeat the same class for an extended time. This gives you an opportunity to learn the songs, spending less time in transition. The intention is to keep your heart rate up and your body moving. You can do this best when you know the moves. Additionally, it will give you an opportunity to increase the power behind the moves as you learn and progress.
Can everyone do it?
It is designed to be modified for beginners and higher-level fitness enthusiasts.
If you have injuries or are a true fitness beginner, you may find some of the moves difficult. If you're willing to stick with it, you can and will improve.
What's fun about it?
The Tag Line for Strong by Zumba is "Every beat has a move and every move has a beat."
The choreography is done by the Strong Master Trainer, Ai Lee Syarief. After the choreography is done, artists are brought in to create the music FOR the routine. This is revolutionary. What's fun is that you can FEEL your workout with the music. It pushes you to work harder.
What do I need to bring?
Because the 4th Quadrant is on the floor entirely, you may want to bring a mat. As always, bring your water. You may want a towel.
How much are the classes?
$5 each or 8 classes for $32.
Classes will begin in January
Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:00 at Whiteside Community Center 4009 S. Pittsburg
